Everybody around is talking about blogs, wikis, and social networks. Where can we start learning about these things and how to use them? This page will give you a brief overview, and point to more in-depth resources.
There are myriads of social media tools out there. Don't be overwhelmed and also, don't jump on every tool. Evaluate them carefully to see what are your or your organizatation's needs and understand/know why you need to be there. Keep in mind that for your agenda to succeed, you need to make yourself visible to others (promote your twitter account, blog address, etc.), dedicate time to making to participate and build your community/network and regularly engage with them.
Like in any project, there comes a point where you need start looking at measuring the impact of the initiative. The area of measuring impact of social media is relatively new although there are few suggestions on how to start the monitoring. You can measure/do the following:
